Mapping Arnâron – Migrations, Draft 1

Now we’re finally getting somewhere. This is a first draft of the migration of the people of Arnâron.

Arnâron - Human migration

Humans evolved in the region marked by the big black circle on the eastern of the two main continents. From there, they began to spread out in all directions, first to the more fertile climates, then into arid areas as well. The whole process took about fifty thousand years. The islands in the north of the ocean at the center of the map were among the last spots of land that mankind spread to. Very few islands were missed by humans in pre-historic time.

  1. I'm loving these maps. They're detailed and interesting, and you've put a lot of thought into them.

Which bit of the world are you going to hold your story in? Or have you not decided that yet?

  2. Thanks. I don't know which part will be the "primary" location of the world, yet. I have to destroy it, first. However, two rough guesses are that the main surviving societies should be in the northeast and southwest parts of this map; the climate will be more tolerable nearer to the poles, and the ocean's deeper there (see the Ocean Currents map, for the trench locations). Still… we'll find out for sure soon.
